Self Compassion & Worth

As you may have noticed, all of my Areas of Focus are interrelated. Because that is the nature of life; everything is interweaved and interconnected. As I have spoken about "Relationships" as a whole in another section, my wish here is to reiterate the fact that the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. 

Self Worth.

You matter.

I'll say it again; You Matter.

But do you know that you matter? Do you allow yourself to matter? Do you have any concept of how much you matter or who you matter to...?

It won't matter how much validation you receive from others, if you don't truly value yourself or believe in your own worth, what anyone else says won't resonate either. It will never be enough.

Compassion. It's easy enough to offer it to others, but do you ever offer it to yourself? If something in your life falters, doesn't go the way you desired it to or you made a mistake, are you able to have Self Compassion? To grant yourself the simple grace of forgiveness and compassion you would offer a friend, or even a stranger in a similar situation?

Having any positive sense of self worth allows you to hold space for self compassion; the two concepts go hand in hand.

So don't just subscribe to society's "Be Kind" message, Be Compassionate.
